Salesian Family grows through listening!

Dear friends and confreres!

Once again a truly HAPPY EASTER journey to all of you! It’s already one month after the memorable first post GC27 visit of the Rector Major in East Asia that included also a two unforgettable days with the EAO provincials and delegates in Batulao, Manila.

Many SDB provincials shared how they grow in humility, patience and sharing in their service of animation and government. They spent hours in listening to their confreres!

When Jesus walked with two disciples to the village of Emmaus, he dedicated many hours of listening to those discouraged and disoriented fellows. Without patient listening on their journey they wouldn’t be able to discover the face of the Risen Lord.

At Colle Don Bosco (Becchi) we meet at the center of the Basilica giant wooden statue of the Risen Lord. Before we leave the Basilica we are inspired by the giant colorful fresco of the Jesus Emmaus story.

How much time, energy and patience do we dedicate through daily listening to our fellow Salesians? How much time do we spent in the dialogue with the young people or to get the meaning of non-verbal language of our lay mission partners and Salesian family members?

We humbly recognize the importance of simple listening from heart to heart! Since the time of Don Bosco our Salesian family grows by listening! Attached photo of Don Bosco who hears the confession of Paul Albera shows us the Emmaus story alive today!

I wish you a listenful and fruitful Easter season 2016!

In Don Bosco
