Fatumaca, Timor Leste, 15 August 2018 -- On the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary into heaven, the ordaining prelate, Bishop Virgílio do Carmo da Silva, SDB ordained two deacons, Rev. César da Costa and Rev. Jolino Viera to the sacred order of Presbyters at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Fatumaca.
The whole celebration started in the presence of hundreds of faithful with a cultural ceremony from the part of both families to let their sons to be offered once again to God through the Salesian Congregation. Fr. Apolinário Neto represented the Congregation with joyful hearts welcomed the deacons.
During the Eucharistic celebration the ordaining Bishop Virgílio da Silva, SDB was joined by the Bishop of Baucau, Mons. Basílio do Nascimento for the first time in the history of the TLS Vice-Province after the newly established INA Vice-Province since last August 1, 2018.
The festive assembly was participated by Fr. Apolinário Neto, Superior of St. Callisto Caravario Vice-Province (TLS), together with 57 diocesan and religious priests concelebrated during this celebration. Many lay faithful, religious sisters, seminarians, families and friends of the newly ordained priests were also in attendance.
