HCM City, Vietnam, 16 September 2017 -- Sixty representatives of local councils of Salesian cooperators of Vietnam gathered to elect their new provincial council for the term 2017-2020.

The Meeting had also the presences of the Provincial Delegates of SDB and FMA, the local delegates of 7 centers . After the proclamation of the Word of God which highlighted the meaning of selection of those who worked for the Kingdom of God, Fr. Joseph Tran Van Hien helped those who were present to deepen the meaning and the importance of the event.

The outgoing Provincial Coordinator read the regulations for the election and presented the candidates who had been proposed by the local centers one month ago.

Sister Ann (FMA) then did some reflection on the mission, services of the Provincial Council to inspire the voters for their acts in view of the Salesian mission to the poor youth in Vietnam.

The result was indeed pleasing to everyone as it took only one round for the election of 7 members who later had a quick meeting for the distribution of their roles:

2. Mr. Rocco Le Huu Phuoc – Vice Coordinator, in charge of Social Communication and Apostolate
3. Mrs. Therese Thach Ngoc Mai Thuy – Secretary
4. Mrs. Mary Nguyen Ngoc Huyen Chau – Administrator
5. Mr. Dominic Vu quang Ninh – Formation
6. Mr. Vincent Dao Duy Linh – Youth Apostolate
7. Mrs. Nguyen Thi Phuong – Liturgy

For the ending, the Provincial Delegate of SDB thanked the outgoing council of 2014-2017) for their sacrifices and contribution to make the Association of Salesian Cooperators an effective partners of Salesians of Don Bosco and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. He wished that the new Council will continue the spirit with new initiatives to strengthen the vocations of each Salesian cooperators and enhance their dedication for the youth cause.
