General Councilor for the Mission CSJ

Rome, Italy -- Last October 3, 2018, the Missionary Send-Off Eucharist, at which Fr Francis Okamoto SDB presided, took place at the chapel of the Generalate in Rome for Sr Regina Takahira, CSJ - a new missionary in Juba, South Sudan.

Since the beginning of this year, Sr Regina has experienced her first missionary exposure in the community of Juba in South Sudan. Last September, she participated in the missionary formation program and the spirituality seminar of the Caritas Sisters. In the Send-Off Ceremony she received the Missionary Crucifix from the hands of Superior General, Sr Teresia Furuki, and confirmed her missionary vocation ad gentes in the presence of the Lord.

Then Sr Takahira left for Kenya in the evening of the same day, keeping the prayers and encouragement of the Mother General and many members of the congregation in her heart. She is assigned to the Juba community in South Sudan, where she will reach after her language study in Kenya. The Juba community is the first mission of the Caritas Sisters of Jesus in the African continent, open since 2011.

Please continue to pray for her that she will fulfill the will of God with good health and strong faith, together with another 6 Caritas Sisters who are already working in South Sudan.
