ASC, 4th Provincial Congress in Korea

Seoul, Korea, 8 April 2018 -- The Korea Salesian Cooperators held their 4th Provincial Congress in Seoul, at the salesian provincial house. All around the country, including 2 Jeju (the biggest island in Korea) local centers, more than 50 Cooperators attended.

The Korea Cooperators have grown up highly in their figure and the contents during last 6~7 years.

Through 'Formation School' they have been strengthening their Salesian identity. As a result, there are at least 400 active members in Korea. Also last year the Korea Cooperators made another organization, the Communication Committee. It is in charge of renewal and updating internet web page, translation, monthly e-news and periodicals magazine. The first task of the Communication Committee is publicizing better in the society about the Salesian Cooperators and facilitating the communication among the Cooperators.

After attendants were introduced, Fr. John Jung informed to all about the Rector Major, Fr. Angel Fernandez Artime’s first official visit to Korea, in coming Nov. 13th~17th. And on 16th Nov. there will be the new Salesian Cooperators Promise, will be presided by the Rector Major. Many Aspirants expect their unforgettable Promise celebration.

Now, The Korea Salesian Cooperators are preparing new internet homepage. The Provincial Secretary, Augustine Lee JangHee informed the needs in order to reform the old homepage. He emphasized that new homepage will offer easy accessibility that Cooperators can search all center's news easily through their mobile smart phone.

After lunch, Cooperators shared each others their apostolic activities and experiences, on activities in the Group Homes, discerning vocation, economic solidarity, animating local Centers etc.

In the closing Mass all Cooperators sang ‘Saint John Bosco’. With the accompaniment of the Mary Help of Christians, the Korea Salesian Cooperators will continue to walk their way with young boys and girls, specially with those who most in needed.
