Savaii, Samoa, 25 May 2018 -- To help students to be aware of the importance of physical training in life and prepare for an athletic day for whole colleges in Savaii Island next month, today Don Bosco College and Technical Centre in Salelologa held an athletics day for about 260 students of the school.
At 8:30 in the morning, all students gathered in “Fale Samoa”(Samoa’s house) with four groups: Red, Green, Blue and Gold with the presence of Fr Nuku Leafia, the Principal; Fr VisesioTovio, Vice Principal, was MC and all staff were referees of the day.
At the beginning of the event, each group, whowas formed in last two weeks for training, showed off their decorations and their slogans. After that, Br. Kevin Fiame gave some encouragement for them and led prayers. The games were attractive and dramatic, especially in track. The athletes showed their stamina and flexibilities although they had to play under hot weather today. After the games, we shared a meal, which prepared by the groups, with each other and had some traditional dances.
At the end of the day, Fr Nuku Leafia gave the result, the Blue team was the first place, and he thanked everyone for a successful day. The event finished at 14:00.
