60th Anniversary Don Bosco School Udonthani

Udon Thani, Thailand, 10 March 2018 -- Don Bosco Vittaya School in Udon Thani, Thailand has been continuing to instill knowledge in the individual, adhering to the educational philosophy of Saint John Bosco’s unique Salesian school for fully 60 years this academic year.

Don Bosco Vittaya School will strive continuously and tirelessly to creatively develop the intelligence of the students, and to instill the foundations of self-discipline in them. This has been and will continue to be accomplished by organizing and implementing a variety of learning processes that respond to different learning styles with the outcome that each student will have the knowledge, skills and values he or she needs to live fully and happily now and in the future.

On the occasion of the 60 year anniversary, the school has organized two events in which the teachers, students, parents, alumni and members of the community can join together in fellowship.

The 60 years Don Bosco Udon Thani Half Marathon was consist of three different types of competition: a run/walk “Fun Run” with a length of 3.5 kilometers, a “Quarter Marathon” with a length of 10.5 kilometers, and a “Half Marathon” with a length of 21 kilometers.   The competition took place on the 14th of January 2018 from 05:00 am to 10:00 am. There were more than 3,500 competitors. The ceremony was be opened by Father Niphon Sarachit School Rector, Father Dr. Smith Daengamphan, School Director and the school administrators. They presented to start the race and see the athletes off. Even though the weather may be cold, the Don Bosco family spirit is truly warm. There will also be some honored guests participating in the 21 km Half Marathon. The mayor of the Udon Thani Municipality along with deputy mayors of the Udon Thani Municipaltiy joyed in this competition.

'United Together With Love 60 years Don Bosco Udon Thani' is a celebration to express gratitude to the school administrators and teaching staff and at the same time show appreciation for the parents who enhance and support the school. This celebration had up to 3,000 attendees. There were many different performances to showcase the achievements of the students, such as the symphony orchestra and Thai traditional music. There was a mixed media showcase which told the history of the school from the past to the present. The “United Together With Love 60 years Don Bosco Udon Thani” Show had a total of 250 performers. The ceremony was opened by Bishop Joseph Prathan Sridarunsil of Surrathani, Father John Bosco Thepharat Pitisant SDB Provincial of Thailand-Cambodia-Laos and many senior Salesian who were the former rector and principal at Don Bosco Udon thani. There was also Alumni representatives, Mr. Sanya Kunakorn a professional presenter/actor , proudly describe how the spirit and implementation of the teachings of Saint John Bosco and the Salesian and teachers has contributed to his successful life and career.

A beautiful fireworks display helps to commemorate this historic occasion. At the celebration everybody rejoice. This event took place on Saturday the 27th of January 2018 at Don Bosco Vittaya school in the late evening until 11 PM.
