While the Chapter is working on the final document - and that's in some respects a tedious operation that doesn't have good news value as they go through it (it will when it's finished), it might be time to take a quick look at some items from around the Region that have come in.

Deaths: Fr Peter Ho (CIN)
Birthdays: a 101 and a 99 - also CIN
25th anniversaries - including Bro Raymond Callo, invitee to GC27 from FIN

Fr Peter Ho
Fr PEter Ho Kuang-Ling, a former Provincial of CIN, an most recently resident in Macau, has passed away at the age of 85.
   

Significant milestones
Fr Ernesto Rescalli, 101 years old

Both of CIN, chalking up a neat 200 years of missionary service in their Province.

25 years of profession - Don Bosco Batulao, Nasugbu Batangas, and Rome, GC27
Fr Fernando Urbano, SDB and Fr Edwin Ulanday, SDB solemnly reaffirmed their profession of faith to the Salesian life after 25 years. They prayed once more in front of the altar, the formula for profession during the morning mass of the second day of the annual retreat for the FIN Salesians at the Mary Help of Christians Center for Spirituality, Batulao, Nasugbu, Batangas.

Fr Urbano, presiding at the mass, invited the confreres present to pray for those who are celebrating the silver jubilee year of their religious profession. Aside from himself and Fr Ulanday, they include: Fr. Ramon Antonio Aldana, Fr Daniel Dadule, and Br Raymond Callo (attending GC27) from FIN; and Br. Mari Aberasturi, and Fr. Ramon Pacada from FIS.

FIN is currently having the first of three batches of the annual retreat. Following the Church's thrust for the laity, the conferences are given by laypeople who are active in the Church and are well-experienced in theeir topics:
- DB Disciple of St. Francis of Sales / Constant listening to God and Man
- DB, the young, and the Family / Spirituality of Relationships
- DB with the Salesian Family in the World / Commitment in the Church for the World
- DB and Good Citizenry / Spirituality of Daily Life and Work
- DB and His Devotions / Devotions to Mary and the Eucharist
