Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, September 1, 2015 - After three months of summer vacation all the students from various parts of Mongolia came back to start off the new Academic year 2015-2016. The opening program began at 9am. Bp. Wensuslaw Padilla, the prefecture of Mongolia gave the opening speech emphasizing on ‘discipline’. “It is the discipline that makes the man” he said. While addressing to the students, he also said that all the students should be grateful and should express their gratitude towards, parents, teachers and to the salesians. Each of these has great role play in forming each student. Thereafter the entire assembly sang the Mongolian national anthem. Then, the manager of the school introduced each workers, teachers and collaborators and the Salesians.


After that, Fr. Andrew Trung Tin Nguyen, the Rector and delegate of Mongolia delivered his welcome speech. While conveying the message to all, he said, ‘We are here to prepare for life.’ It is not enough to become just a good mechanic or worker but one has to know how to look after or handle one’s life after he or she graduates from Don Bosco School. Then, the whole assembly students, teachers, Salesians group by group took an oath to be faithful to one’s duties and responsibilities.


After the short program the entire school, students, teachers, parents, guardians and guests gathered in the courtyard of the school and planted a trees symbolizing the growth of a person and development of Don Bosco School. Soon after that all the students entered in their classrooms for the orientation or motivational activities which were organized by the class teachers and manager of the school.


Don Bosco Technical School Ulaanbaatar has more than one hundred new students for six various trades, welding, plumbing, construction, auto mechanic and secretariat, sewing. Total number of students and the staff are more than three hundred. Don Bosco School Ulaanbaatar is accepting and educating the students, who are poor marginalized, drop out, city migrants etc. Don Bosco technical school is attached to Don Bosco Caring center. So, it is also catering to these children for their technical and higher educations.
