RMG, 18 January 2019 -- As does every newly-appointed SDB Provincial since January 2015, the KOR Provincial-elect, Fr Timothy Choi Won Cheol, was also invited by the Successor of Don Bosco to Rome for few days (January 15-20) for a series of personal talks and to receive his 'Road Map'.

Over two full days Fr Tim was able to meet (almost non-stop meetings) all sector Councillors (Formation, Youth Ministry, Social Communication, Mmissions and Economy), the Vicar and at the end also the Rector Major for a longer personal talk. At the end he received not only a beautiful statue of Mary Help of Christians and Don Bosco from the hands of Fr Ángel, but also the Road Map 2019-2025. The twelve strategic points of the Road Map are based on Faith, Salesian charismatic identity and wisdom in animation and governance; it indicates the priorities which emerged from the recent consultation and discernment process in the General Council.

Fr Timothy was "deeply touched by the strong sense of communion and close accompaniment by the Rector Major and all his Councillors, as well by the overwhelming interest in assisting and accompanying the newly-appointed Provincial and his Province."

Before his return to Korea, the Provincial-elect was able to meet the Korean Salesian Family members based in Rome - most of them students - Salesian confreres at the UPS (Salesian Pontifical University) and FMA sisters - students as well visit the Caritas Sisters of Jesus General House located in Rome.

We pray for Fr Timothy and his provincial community of the holy Korean Martyrs (KOR). The installation of the new Provincial is scheduled for March 3, 2019 in Seoul, at Provincial House during the 11 a.m. Eucharistic celebration.
