Vunabosco, PNG, 12 November 2018 -- The 18th official recognition of the Short Course Students at Vunabosco Agro Technical Secondary School in East New Britain Province was held on the 12 November 2018.

In his opening remarks, Mr Richard Buanga, Deputy Technical, said that the aim of the program was to reach out to the youth, especially those without any formal training on Basic Trades and Life Skills. “The aim of the school is to form students to become productive and honest citizens in their communities according to the vision of St Don Bosco”, he said.

A total of 45 students completed their course and have graduated. 19 Electrical students, 12 welding, 8 motor vehicle and 4 carpentry students. The skills that were acquired in the past 16 weeks were officially recognised by the school, parents and the stakeholders. The ‘Certificate of Completion’ gives them the basic skills they need to sustain their lives at home.

The formation given to them at Vunabosco will carry them a long way in their future.
