Darkhan, Mongolia, 2 June 2018 -- Don Bosco Darkhan opened a mini market for the children of the surrounding area. Around 100 children from all over Darkhan came to have fun in the market. Various types of indoor and outdoor games were organized by the youth and catechist of Darkhan parish. Winners received the coupon and they could buy anything available from the market. Actually some coupons were already distributed for children who regularly attended the church services.

This was organized under the guidance and leadership of Fr. Joseph Dat, SDB. The objectives of all these activities were to make the youth to feel the presence of Don Bosco and his charism. This was also an occasion to introduce them the life and works of the Salesians. The program was held for whole afternoon.

Graduation day at the river bank

Don Bosco study centre ended the academic year with the graduation ceremony on June 3, 2018. Around 30 children completed their three months course in English, drawing, and computer. Graduation day was organized at bank of Orkhon River near to Darkhan city.

It started at 1:00 pm, all the students with 4 teachers travelled by bus to the Orkhon River surrounded with hills and spring water with huge pasture land. After arrival many types of free games were organized including swimming and concerts etc. During the concert Fr. Anthony SDB in- charge of the Don Bosco centre expressed the words of encouragement and gave them certificate of completion. The program ended at 8 pm.

Spring football league organized by Don Bosco for the first time

Don Bosco Darkhan organize 2 days spring football league in Hutul 60 kms away from Darkhan city, one of the sub-centres run by the Salesian co-operators. The league was held from June 2 - 3, 2018. Around 220 children from whole Hutul region participated in this league. Fr. Joseph Dat, SDB was present with them in this occasion to support, to encourage and to motivate them. This kind of interactions and contact with the young in Mongolia is considered to be very useful to spread the charism of Don Bosco and the same time to sow the seed of Christian faith.

In Hutul there is zero catholic population but Don Bosco is accepted and is able to actively organize various activities. This was the first effort to connect them with the Catholic Church in Darkhan. The youth from Hutul are regularly coming to participate in the parish activities in Darkhan.
