Vietnam Province Animation Visit 2018

Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam, 24 May 2018 -- One year after the end of the extraordinary visitation 2017 of the Vietnam-Mongolia province, Fr. Klement spent again 4 days for a brief animation visit as part of his Regional councilor mission - to accompany the provinces on their journey. Animation does mean steer more life and spirit and we are grateful for this short but rich exchange in past days, May 20-24.

One day of the animation was dedicated to the preparation of the Salesian Brother Congress including the on-site visit of the K'Long Don Bosco Retreat house that will host the EAO 2018 Brother Congress participants in few months time.

Short but intense interaction with the 23 novices (HCM City - Bathon) and 30 postnovices (Dalat Don Rua community) and their formators was another important time of the animation. Three main events & processes in our Region and Congregation were at the center of open dialogue: present year Salesian Mission Day 2018 'Initial Proclamation of Jesus in Asia' with a focus on technical education (training centeres, including a dynamic video presentation of two Vietnam VTC - Phuoc Loc and Dong Thuan), inspiration insight in the dynamics of 28th General Chapter about 'What kind of Salesians for the Youth of Today?" and lastly also the Salesian Brother Congress preparation and inspiration.

In Dalat City Fr. Vaclav had the chance to assist the graduation ceremony of our migrant children (primary school) and in Xuan Hiep (old provincial house site) our Regional Councilor enjoyed the Academy on the Eve of Mary Help of Christian Festaday well prepared and participated by our parishioners, theology students, migrant youth and Salesian Cooperators from many local Centers around Ho Chi Minh City.

Of course, the personal refelction time with our Provincial, Fr. Joseph Nguyen Van Quang, offered the visitor a deep insight in the vibrant dynamics of our growing provincial community. Just two days after this animation visit our Provincial Council will spend four full days on the mide-term evaluation (3 year plan) of all sectors of provincial animation in view of the Provincial Chapter journey.
