Visit of Japan young Salesians to Korea

By Fr. Bosco Park, SDB

Gwangju, Korea, 13 March 2018 -- During the historical visit of young Salesian confreres of Japan to Korea, seven confreres in initial formation accompanied by Fr. Jacob Hamaguchi (GIA Viceprovincial) and Fr. Michael Lap (GIA Novice-master) spent two days also in the Gwangju postnovitiate community. Fr. Andrew Chang (KOR missionary in Japan) did also accompany his confreres to Gwangju.

It was a precious time of sharing the communion of one Salesian Congregation, between two communities of Chofu (Japan) and Gwangju (Korea). Indeed the first two Korean Salesians received their novitiate formation in Chofu (1962) during the times of Fr. Cimatti and Fr. Taddeo Park (Gwangju community confessor) is still a living witness to that experience!

Friendship in the basketball field, prayers in English and after last supper wonderful 'Academy' shared by two province postnovices and young Salesians. Two groups of young Salesians shared songs, music performance and also a typical 'magic show'.
