Coming together in the name of Don Bosco
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, 20 January 2018 -- In order to spend the Don Bosco month with more meaning, this year we organize the first full day Don Bosco's Youth Activity: "Don Bosco: Youth serving Youth." About 100 young people of the Salesian mission in Darkhan, Hutul, Showoo, together with the students of Don Bosco Technical School and Don Bosco Caring Center in UB, gathered together for this Youth Activity. The main organizers were the Salesians SD and teachers of Don Bosco Technical School.
The Sports Day was started with the Mongolia National Anathem, followed by the opening speech of Fr. Paul Leung (Superior of Mongolian Delegation) and continued by sports competion. We divided the youth in 6 teams under the names of Savio, Laura, Magone, Besucco, Cagliero and Namuncura. The youth were enthusiastic in the different sort of games; such as blind drawing, snake game, horse game, dance and basketball.
Fr. Paul introduced the aim of this Youth Day: "We initiate this activity in order to make the month of Don Bosco more meaningful. Even though, we are in different places, but we are one family. Our main purpose is not to gain the award but rather to depeen our relationship. We came to know each other more. Indeed our Father Don Bosco is happy to see his children who are now joyfully gathered together."
We started the Don Bosco Sports Day at 10 am and finished at 4 pm. The youth from Darkhan and Hutul went back by train. All of us were happy to experience the family spirit of the Salesian Youth! Viva Don Bosco!
