4616(I)_Rector Major speaks 32 languages - Strenna Video 2018

Thanks for the precious contributions of the Salesian translators

EAO, 19 January 2018 -- Without the precious, patient and passionate work of many Salesian translators the Strenna 2018 of the Rector Major would not be known and followed all around the world. Indeed also this year there are 32 different language subtitles on the 15 minutes video presentation of the Strenna.

According the sharing of the Rector major during the 2018 Salesian Family Spirituality Days the reason for first spoken language of the videos - Spanish - is very pragmatic. All around the world there are more than 60 Spanish speaking provinces of SF groups, the Italian speaking SDB-FMA-other religious congregation provinces are only 15 and the English speaking provinces are also less than the Spanish speaking. Also this January one of the SC sector staff, Fr. Jacob Ir. (INC province) was until now very busy with inserting the variety of 30+ different language translations in the 15 minutes video message and the sound is dubbed in English.

Deep gratitude and congratulations to all EAO Salesian text translators, who help to spread the Salesian Charism in most of the main local languages. So the Charism of Don Bosco is getting more and more known and rooted in our countries with different cultures and religions.
