Salesian Brother Formation - worldwide meeting 2017
Genzano, Italy, 15 October 2017 -- Last weekend (October 12-15) was held in Genzano (Central Italy, near to Rome) Salesian Retreat House and Novitiate a special encounter of confreres involved in the Specific Formation of Salesian Brothers around the Congregation. Among the recourse person was remarkable the input of Fr. Andrea Bozzolo (UPS - Torino, Crocetta).
Among the 23 participants were present also two General Councilors - Fr. Ivo Coelho (Formation) and Bro. Jean Paul Muller (Economy) and not less than 6 EAO confreres: Bro. Thanad (THA), Fr. Sanico (FIN - Sandor community rector), Bro. Raymond Callo (FIN), Fr. Barnaba Phong (VIE - Rinaldi formation house rector), Fr. Nestor Impelido (FIN-ICP) and Bro. Adriano de Jesus (ITM). Most of the participants from all 4 continents are or were involved directly in the Salesian Brothers specific formation stage.
Within few recent years were open six different centers for the specific formation of Salesian Brothers: Cresco (Guatemala - for the American continent), Sunyani (Ghana - for English speaking African provinces), Yaounde (Camerun - for the French speaking African provinces), Valdocco (Italy - for the provinces of Europe), Shillong (North East of India - for South Asia) and Paranaque (Phillippines now serving both South Asia and EAO regions).
One of the EAO participants shares his insight:
"Its interesting to hear a variety of encouraging sharing from the different Salesian Centres of Salesian Brother specific formation in the Congregation. Thanks to the specific formation and professional specialization Salesian Brothers are growting in their apostolic mission - consecration to the young as Consecrated Lay Salesian Religious. This initiative of sharing helped us to know how to offer the all round formation to the Salesian Brothers, become clearer in our identity and show us a great progress in quality formation."
