'+Description+': In 1991 VIS was officially recognised as an NGO by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for carrying out international cooperation projects for development. VIS, promoted by CNOS (National Centre for Salesian Works), is a lay organisation backing the Salesian tradition of social commitment in Italy and in the South of the world, and at the same time pursuing its own institutional aims inspired by Don Bosco's Preventive System and by Saleaisn standard educational practice. In 2009 VIS received from the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) a special consultative status enabling it to take part in the UN Human Rights Council and certain other Commissions and Working Groups of the UN.

(:zapend:) (:zapform key=Type:) '''Term type''' ('EntryTerm' ''if no other applies)'' (1) (2) [Initialisms like AGC are regarded as acronyms; a term like 'Bro.' is an abbreviation; an example of short form instead would be the main part of a very long book title (most of DB's book titles! 'Giovane Provveduto' is a short form). A loan term is not translated whereas a calque is. A blend is where two (or more) morphemes or 'word' parts have been combined to form a single term, as in the case of 'austraLasia'. Choose variant when there exists at least one other common form of the term. ] (:zapend:)
