'+Description+': As pointed out by Desramaut 100p-c, this term was in a sense 'formalised' in the Salesian Family when on 12 September 1884, Fr Sala was debating with Don Bosco the motto for the Salesian Coat of Arms and Don Bosco insisted that from the outset his motto had been Da mihi animas cetera tolle. The term fell out of favour in Christian spirituality generally, especially in the 20th Century, even described as such by Fr Viganò ('antiquato' = archaic), however he went on to say that it emphasises the most important and significant features of the human being and his or her social context. (ACS 332 1989). Fr Michael Rua tells that that Don Bosco had 'no other thought than for souls', meaning spiritual beings to be preserved in God's grace and prepared for their encounter with God in eternity.
