Preventive System for Middle Management

HONG KONG: 10 May 2012 -- Those who attended the seminar in the auditorium of the Shau Kei Wan Salesian School on the morning of 5 May 2012 were filled with expectation, as Principal Mr. Chan Tak Hang was invited to speak.

Mr. Chan shared his views on how middle management staff can implement the Preventive System as part of school development. The teachers' high expectations were certainly met: Principal Mr. Chan's combination of humour and sharing of his experiences in middle management was well-received and proved a huge success.

Fr. Simon Lam Chung Wai, Provincial, also shared his stories with the teachers by recounting the 3 core values of the Salesian Preventive System, namely:

1. enabling students to feel guided by their teachers;
2. creating a family atmosphere in schools, as this can have a positive effect on students; and
3. teaching students to adopt a multi-dimensional approach to life.

Finally, Mr. Chan Ming-Ming, Vice-Principal of the Hong Kong Tang King Po College, also shared his thoughts and real-life experiences in middle management.
From the seminar, attendees were able to gain a better picture of how to further their development in middle management for the benefit of their schools.
