Diaconate ordinations, EAO
PARAÑAQUE: 1 April 2012 --  On 31 March 2012, the Salesian Family, along with the Seminaryo ng Don Bosco Paranãque were joyful witnesses to the ordination of 9 Salesian deacons. The Eucharistic celebration on this magnificent occasion took place at the National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, Parañaque.  The new deacons are as follows:

Four are from FIN province: Rev. Umijun Binueza, Rev. Marlon Eleosida, Rev. Ulysses Rimbawa, Rev. Abner Santos; one from FIS: Rev. Alipio Antonio Añano; one from VIE-MONG: Rev. Anthony Kishore Minj , and three from  ITM-Indonesia Vice province: Rev.  João Pereira Gaspar, Rev. Agustinus Catur Prastawa, Rev. Petrus Laurensius Adie Prinanto.

The ordaining prelate was Bishop Patrick Buzon, sdb. He focused his homily on the theme of the ordination chosen by the newly ordained: Love never ends (1Cor.13: 8). The choir was made up of aspirants and prenovices from Canlubang, conducted by Bro Jomar Castillo. Many parents, family members, relatives and friends of the ordained deacons were present, along with a number of Salesian superiors such as the Provincial of Vietnam, Fr. Joseph Hung, Fr. George Militante, provincial of Philippines South Province, Fr. Eli Cruz, provincial of Philippines North. Many other Salesian priests, brothers and religious priests and sisters of different congregations were in attendance.

After the Eucharistic table shared together at the Shrine, a delicious meal was shared with the invited guests of the newly ordained, some of whom had come from abroad (Mongolia, Indonesia, East Timor, Southern Philippines, etc.) and many others were young people from their respective places of apostolate.


Apart from this diaconate ordination, at least three other Salesians will be ordained priests shortly in their respective countries of origin; among them two belonging to the PNG-SI delegation: Fr. Peter Ryan Vergouw (originally from ITM, now a PNG-SI member), Fr. Stephen Yu Ji Hun (originally from KOR, now a PNG-SI member), and Fr.
Regino Carlo Godinez  (FIS).
